About Historical City District
The Historical City District was founded and organized by the Late B.A. Anthony in February 1980, at which time the Jurisdictional Prelate, the late Bishop T.D. Iglehart, received Historical City District into the Texas Southwest Jurisdiction. The name, "Historical City" was conceived by the First Lady, the late Missionary Dollie Mae Anthony.

The Historical City District began with the following churches: Emmanuel under the leadership of Supt. B.A. Anthony; Denver Heights, under the leadership of Pastor Smith, currently under the leadership of Pastor J.B. Pope; Galatians, under the leadership of Pastor Frazier Hilliard, currently under the leadership of Pastor Andrew Greathouse; and Wayfaring, under the leadership of Pastor John Harvey who left the Jurisdiction in 2011.

Missionary Williams served as the first District Missionary from 1980 - 1983 upon her demise Missionary Elvie Moore was appointed District Missionary and served from 1983 - 1989. After the Lord called her home, Missionary Ruby Bonds was appointed to the position of District Missionary in April of 1989 and has continued to serve faithfully in this capacity.

Since the conception of the District the following churches were added: The Healing Temple House of Deliverance Church of God in Christ joined the District under the leadership of Pastor James Lewis, and The Divine Purpose Church of God in Christ joined the District in July 2005 under the leadership of Pastor Jonnie Evens Jr. The latest addition to the Historical City District in 2010 the Tabernacle Ministries Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Eric White, and 2012 the Victory Faith Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Gibson.

Superintendent B A. Anthony was called from labor to reward on February 2, 2004. Bishop Samuel Edward Iglehart Appointed, Elder Joseph Johnson Pastor of Emmanuel Pentecostal, to be the Superintendent for the Historical City District in March 2005. To God be the glory for what He has done and is doing. This is a great hour for the church and we are excited for the work that lies ahead.
